My schedule for Love and Capes #4 was to do twelve pages in January, twelve pages in February. I have failed miserably. I only did eleven pages, or as Dennis the Menace used to say "eleventeen." So now I have to do thirteen pages in the shortest freakin' month of the year. Curse my luck! Now, I did laze about and took the first week of January off, so I did eleven pages in 22 days. So thirteen in 28, p'shaw! No problemo.
This page should be the last petulant Crusader we see for the book. He's been a bit snippy, and we'll find out why soon enough. There's actually some motivation going on here.
Again, I've tried to balance the "what could a sitcom afford" rule with the "let's put in some more physical stuff," so here we see Crusader and Darkblade getting rid of a bomb. (Whoa! Adam West flashback!) We don't see the bad guy, and for the most part it's played light. Very much everything's under control.
I also got to set it at the Jefferson Memorial. Why? Well, Jefferson's one of my favorite presidents, and I've been to the Memorial, and thought it would be fun to draw. It worked out well, too, as I have a Two-Face type bad guy I introduced in issue #2 called Triple Threat. Being obsessed with the number three, it's natural that he'd attack our third president.
