Just a few days until I head off to the New York Comic-Con, and then Mid-Ohio-Con shortly thereafter. And then my last show of the year, the Long Beach Comic Con. Each show will have its own limited edition print, like my other shows this year, but I want to do something special to wrap up the season.
So, here's what I'm thinking.
I've been to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, and in thinking of places of interest to highlight for the print, that facility came to mind. And I'm always thinking about Star Trek, and anytime I'm in an aquarium, that "Perhaps he's singing to that man in there" from The Voyage Home always comes to mind. So, I have this idea of Mermantis swimming with the fish as Mark and Abby look on through the observation window.
(Mermantis does appear in Love and Capes, by the way. He's in the background in the sattelite scenes in the last issue of Ever After. He's in the background, but he's definitely there.)
What would really sell the print, though, is a crowd. And I could make up people or draw friends in there, but what I really could do is draw you.
People have asked for something like the wedding/caricature cover that I did for a while. I don't have another cover coming out for some time, but I thought I could do that on this print. The rough is above, and click on it to embiggen.
SO… you can appear on the last Love and Capes print for 2011. It'll be $50.00 per person, and for that you'll get a signed and numbered copy of the print which retails for $25 itself. You can pick it up if you'll be at Long Beach, or I'll mail it out to you at no additional charge. I figure I can fit 15 people on the print, so there aren't many spots and they'll probably go pretty fast.
First come, first served. If you grab a space, I'll send you an e-mail with information about how to send me photos of yourself so that I can draw you in.
The prints will also be available at Long Beach Comic Con. I'm not going to increase the number of prints, so there will still be only 25 prints total. If I sell out all 15 spaces, that means there will only be 10 available at Long Beach.
Last day to get your order in is October 17th unless the spots fill up before then. PayPal button is below, and if you want to have multiple people on the print, click it and the next page will let you select the number of positions.
