JK Parkin over at Newsarama is linking to my Comic Pants interview. Promotional love like that must be noted.
Signing Reminder
Tonight. You. Me. Bob Ingersoll. Barnes and Noble in Mentor. 7:00pm. Star Trek signing. Be there.
Boxing Day
I just unloaded the boxes of Love and Capes #6 from the printer. Cooler than the other side of your pillow.
So, if any of you fine journalistic folk need a review copy, let me know who you are and who you review for, and I'll try to get you one. The book should be in stores by the end of the month, so you'd get the book a little before that.
And, I just sent the print files for the Mid-Ohio-Con 2007 Program Book to the printer. Two huge things in one day. Man, that's a load or two off my mind.
And Speaking of Pants
There's a pretty substantial interview with me up on the Comic Pants website. Check it out.
Space on the Shelf
I won an award today. I entered some stuff in the Apex Awards, presented by the Lake Communicators (of which I'm a proud member). My "Moscone Presentation" that I did for a client won an Award of Achievement, which is kind of like an honorable mention. Unlike previous years, I didn't rack up a shelf full of awards at the event, but the categories change a little bit and so did my business. I'm doing far more illustration and cartooning than graphic design or anything else these days, and there was no straight illustration category this year. Hopefully it'll be back next year.
Still, it's great to be recognized along with such elite and talented company. Yay, me!
Words, Words and More Words
Hey, everybody, I'm interviewed this week over on the Sequential Tart site. Stop by and have a look.
Mark Thy Calendar!
Bob Ingersoll and I will be doing a book signing at the Barnes and Noble in Mentor, just across from Great Lakes Mall, at 7:00pm on November 14th. We'll be promoting that oft-mentioned Star Trek: The Sky's the Limit. Yeah, the one that's over there in the sidebar on the right.
We'll be up there to say "hello" and sign things and talk with y'all about all things Star Trek and anything else that might cross your mind. Come up and see us!

LOCAL AUTHORS FEATURED IN NEW STAR TREK BOOK.
There's a Cleveland connection to the newest Star Trek book coming out on Tuesday October 16. That's the day "Star Trek: TNG: The Sky's The Limit" hits bookstores nationwide, featuring the talents of local authors, Bob Ingersoll & Thomas F. Zahler.
Redefining a familiar universe for a more modern time, Star Trek: The Next Generation introduced Captain Jean-Luc Picard, the officers and crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D, and the worlds of the twenty-fourth century to a new legion of Star Trek ® fans. In the two decades since, viewers and readers have embraced these heroes, thrilled to their personal achievements, their shared victories, their passionate loves...and mourned their painful losses.
"Star Trek: TNG: The Sky's The Limit" ,celebrates the twentieth anniversary of this landmark series by joining these now-legendary characters for all-new adventures: fourteen stories that span the time from before their earliest voyages through their missions on board the Enterprise-E -- untold tales of intrigue, action, insight, and exploration. One of those stories, "Till Death" is written by Cleveland area authors, Bob Ingersoll and Thomas F. Zahler. The story deals with Commander Riker in a time shortly before his wedding, as seen in the motion picture "Star Trek: Nemesis".
Author Bios:
BOB INGERSOLL:
Bob Ingersoll is a practicing attorney with the Cuyahoga County Public Defender Office in Cleveland, Ohio, who hopes to get it right one of these day. For over twenty years he used his legal background to write the regular column, "The Law is a Ass" for Comics Buyer's Guide, a weekly trade newspaper for the comic-book industry.
He has written numerous comic-book scripts including Star Trek, Star Trek: the Next Generation, Lost in Space, Quantum Leap and Hero's Alliance. He was the co-author of the novels Captain America: Liberty's Torch and Star Trek: The Case of the Colonist's Corpse.
He has no idea what he wants to be when he grows up.
THOMAS F. ZAHLER:
When Thomas F. Zahler’s father introduced him to Star Trek and comic books, he probably had no idea what an impression they would make on the boy. Thom became obsessed with both, but decided it would be easier to become a cartoonist than join Starfleet.
After graduating the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art, where he learned to draw funny pictures and tell stories, he began a successful career as an artist, working for clients across the country. His work has been seen everywhere from advertising campaigns to magazines and thoughout the world of comics. He wrote and drew the action-adventure-spy series Raider, and is currently writing and drawing the critically-acclaimed super hero sitcom comic book, Love and Capes.
Zahler lives in northeast Ohio. He has not yet completely given up on a career in Starfleet.

Boldly Arriving
Behold! Look what arrived in ye olde mail today. It's an advance copy of The Sky's the Limit, the Star Trek: the Next Generation collection that includes a story by me and Bob Ingersoll. (That's the book, that's my Captain Kirk action figure, and that's my big ol'hand.) It's right there, starting on page 321. The book comes out next month, you can preorder it from Amazon here, and…
…well, it's just cool.
Look What Came Off the Truck
I'm back from California, and while I had a phenomenal time out there (and no, I still can't say why) it's good to be home.
Love and Capes continues to do well. At the convention, there were a flattering number of people who came by and said "I got issue #1, now I need the rest." LNC is getting underneath people's skins, and that's a good thing.
Also coming back with me were a few items for the Love and Capes store. It's been updated to include the latest issue of Love and Capes, the big number five. There's also a new five-pack deal in the store, the black t-shirts in all sizes, a limited number of red convention t-shirts in X-Large, and an extremely limited number of the Love and Capes Toon Tumblers. So, if you missed San Diego, you'll be able to get some of the coolness that you missed.
And soon, issue #6 will be out. Which means I better get cracking on it.
